Kanaloa is a new Polynesian-themed Tiki bar in the heart of the City. A far cry from the grim and the grey outside, the bar transports visitors to an exotic paradise from the moment they walk over the wooden footbridge. This beachy breeziness is complemented by a vast drinks menu created by Papa Jules – the inspiration behind the drinks at sister club Mahiki [see right]. The club’s signature drink, named the Kanaloa Kula, is a heady mixture of rum, lemon, star anise, lime sugar, pomegranate juice and vintage Spanish sparkling wine. The food menu is pan-Asian inspired and includes delicacies such as tempura lobster with wasabi sauce and Thai green chicken broth with sticky coconut rice. And if you needed another reason to go, well, Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding is one of the investors – that might just be a deal clincher.
