Timed with the opening of its first Norton Atelier in London, British motorcycle brand Norton Motorcycles has collaborated with Savile Row designer Nick Tentis to launch a capsule collection of stylish outerwear.

Founded in 1898, Norton Motorcycles is a long-established British brand that continues to build motorcycles less than 10 miles down the road from the original factory. After 125 years of creating some of the most iconic two-wheelers to grace UK roads, the brand has taken a bold step into the fashion world by drawing inspiration from its rich heritage.

In total, the collection comprises 12 outerwear items handcrafted to be worn in the city as well as further afield. The black unisex bomber jacket available here is made from the highest quality Yorkshire-milled cashmere for superior moisture wicking capabilities. Elsewhere in the collection Ventile® features as a key component due to its high-performance qualities, while also being 100% natural.

The items will initially be housed at the Norton Atelier, the motorcycle brand’s new location in Old Street, London, as well as in a pop-up store at 20 Savile Row (open May 19 – June 3). The Old St. space itself is a contemporary and reductive design to showcase the new outerwear and draw eyes to the recently launched Norton Commando 961 which sits pride of place in the central window.

Designer Nick Tentis explained, “For this capsule collection, I wanted to create something modern and timeless – how I see the Norton brand. We chose black and sand as it creates an almost monochrome palette, which sits well with our quiet luxury theme.

“From the start, it was important to us that this collection would be materials focused – the use of Ventile® and hand-vulcanised seams for instance – so that the clothing can perform without compromising on the shape or the fit. The result is a collection that’s perfect for everyday life but wouldn’t look out of place on a motorcycle.”

Christian Gladwell, Chief Commercial Officer at Norton Motorcycles, said, “Norton is an iconic brand, whose identity bled out of motorcycling in the 1960s and became a ubiquitous cultural icon – not just in Britain but around the world. Today the strength of the brand continues, so it’s the perfect time once again for Norton to become more than just a luxury motorcycle marque and return to being one of the hallmarks of British style and manufacturing.”
