Loch Lomond Distillery can trace its roots back to 1814. Only a few minutes from its namesake loch, this exceptional distillery has a whisky-making capability like no other, crafting whiskies with a signature style of fruit, honey and soft smoke.
Loch Lomond Whiskies is the Official Spirit of The Open – the oldest and most prestigious golf tournament in the world and the sport’s original championship, which brings together professional players from across the globe to compete for the coveted Claret Jug.
The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush will be held from 13-20 July 2025. To mark this momentous sporting event, Loch Lomond Whiskies’ Master Blender, Michael Henry, has collaborated with Scottish golfing legend Colin Montgomerie to create two limited-edition whiskies.
The Open Course Collection 2025 and The Open Course Special Edition 2025 have been bottled to celebrate Loch Lomond Whiskies’ longstanding partnership with the world’s oldest golf tournament, paying tribute to the people, players and courses throughout its history.
The Open Course Collection 2025 (£250) is a 22-year-old whisky that has matured in American Oak barrels and hogshead, before being finished in hand-selected first-fill Spanish Oak casks – a nod to the Spanish Armada ship, La Girona, which sank off the coast of Royal Portrush in 1588.
The Open Special Edition 2025 (£45) explores the influence of Tuscan chianti wine casks on Loch Lomond Distillery’s signature style – the perfect dram for whisky enthusiasts and golfers alike.
