Step back in time to an era of wartime revelry with this 1940's themed Blitz Party featuring a live big band, ration book bar menus, plus sand bags and black out curtains to help you get your WW2 vibe on.

Whatever you do, don't turn up to The Blitz Party in your hoody and your Nike Air Max 90s – this night is all about impressing the crowds with your costume so ladies, (or gents – we don't judge) slip on those stockings, and chaps, polish those medals. Other nostalgic features include sandbags, retro war time snacks and military bunk beds.

Dashing soldiers and victory-curled party girls can also come along to an intimate supper soiree hosted by Fashion on the Ration author, Julie Summers, at Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings. Guests can feast on classic British fare, imbibe expertly mixed cocktails and then ride the vintage red Routemaster to an East End war shelter to continue the night at the Blitz Party. Well, it just wouldn't feel authentic jumping on the night bus in your allied uniform, would it?

The next Blitz Party takes place on March 21 at Village Underground. Tickets are £60 and include a three course dinner, a signed copy of Fashion on the Ration, Routemaster ride and a Blitz Party ticket.
