The beautiful and the well-dressed (that includes us, obviously) were out in force this week to support the English National Ballet, with the dance company celebrating its new future home on London City Island by Eco World Ballymore. The likes of Donna Air, Yasmin Le Bon and Jess Ware rolled up to watch a beautiful performance of excerpts from Le Corsaire and A Room in New York by artists of the English National Ballet company including Crystal Costa and James Forbat.

Later, songstress Jesse Ware took to the stage to serenade the audience, whose members included model Olivia Inge and actor James Norton. After the show, guests were served decadent Island-inspired canapés and cocktails, including black cod croquettes with champagne sauce, salmon roe nicoise stack and quail egg and smoked duck, orange and red wine gel. Those with a sweet tooth were spoiled with dark chocolate, coconut and pineapple popping truffles plus delicious mini gold champagne and raspberry jelly.

After much champagne sipping, merriment and chatter, guests left for the night by crossing the crossing London City Island’s iconic red bridge; celebrating the important link which Ballymore has built between the boroughs of Newham and Tower Hamlets. Inspired by the beauty of the night's dancing, Square Mile then decided to pirouette all the way home. A wise choice, we think you'll agree.
