Event Details
The idea of drinking whiskey with your steak would have been laughed out of the park a few years ago, but just in case you didn’t ge the memo – Whiskey and meat: it’s now a thing.
To celebrate American whiskies, Gaucho has teamed up with Jack Daniel’s to host a week of events, all toasting whiskey as the perfect accompaniment to its famed meat. It’s an apt partnership considering Mr JD himself embraced the heritage by selling meat and whiskey from a wagon to fund the purchase of his first distillery, and the charcoal that mellows JD’s whiskey is still used to fire up grills and barbecues.
The seven-day-long celebration will incorporate everything from Jack Daniel’s whiskey and beef masterclasses to exclusive tastings of new whiskies and an indulgent three-course dinner.
Here’s to whiskey and meat: the perfect couple. We’ll drink to that. Oh, and ours is a medium-rare Argentine rump steak, thanks.
Masterclasses range from £15 to £75, and take place at various Gauchos across London, including Smithfield. Chancery Lane and Broadgate.
