Have you ever wanted to know what 100,000 balloons gently pulsating with white light looks like? Yes? Well, it looks like this month all your balloon-filled dreams could come true.
French artist Charles Petillon has been commissioned to create an installation which will stretch the length of the South Hall ceiling in Covent Garden's Market Building from 27 August. The balloons will be over 54 metres in length and 12 metres wide, which is a lot of balloons by anyone's standards – even 1980's pop star Nena.
