This is certainly one for the carnivorously inclined – City steak stalwart Hawksmoor has teamed up with The Ginger Pig to present a one-off event called The Future of Meat, held at the steakhouse's Guildhall restaurant on Saturday 5 April.

The signature event will kick off at 11:30am, with Bloody Marys served on arrival (naturally), and a hot debate discussing the UK's current relationship with meat, the possibility of a healthy and sustainable supply chain and its future in British gastronomy. Speaking at the event will be three experts on the topic, Ginger Pig owner Tim Wilson, Hawksmoor's Group Executive Chef Richard Turner and Philip Lymbery, Chief Executive Officer of Compassion in World Farming.

After the meaty debate, we reckon you'll have built up an appetite, in which case a sharing-style brunch will be served by team at Hawksmoor, using produce from The Ginger Pig.

Tickets cost £40; for more info or to apply for tickets, go to eatdrinktoast.com.
