The London Boat show is back at the capital’s ExCeL for 2016, inviting boat fans to discover the best of boating, and taking them on a journey from the innovations of the 1960s to the cutting edge technology of today, while looking to the sailing champions of tomorrow.

The 10-day event will host more than 300 marine brands and showcase thousands of products, services, electronics and boats from leading British and international companies. Exhibitors will range from world-class boat builders through to fashion, travel operators and watersports companies.

Visitors will also be able to top up on their boating skills by taking advantage of of the hundreds of marine innovators, adventurers and rising sporting stars who visit and exhibit at the London Boat Show each year with its new feature, ‘The London Boat Show Theatre’, a dedicated area for personalities to share their inspiring stories and expert knowledge through interactive talks and panel shows.

Your boating skills will also be put to the test during a live show taking place at the ‘Mediterranean Bay’, a purpose-built 500,000 litre pool which will host water seminars, tips on boat handling, sail reefing and capsize drills. You’ll also get the chance to trial an array of watersports, from water-walking and kayaking to the latest must-have toys, including the Seabob sourced by Landau UK.

Alongside today’s cutting-edge technology, the show celebrates the innovations of yesteryear with its attraction, the ‘60s Revival’, which’ll showcase the best of the 1960s, both boating and culturally. Visitors will be transported back to an era which saw the first man walk on the moon, the boom of The Beatles, the arrival of the Mirror Dinghy and Sir Francis Chichester becoming the first person to sail singlehanded around the world with only one port of call.

The London Boat Show takes place from 8-17 January at ExCel London. Advance tickets start from £10. For more info visit londonboatshow.com
