Mid-may is hatch season, when water-borne insects come to life on rivers all over the country – and the fish follow suit. On 19 May, challenge yourself to catch the wily brown trout on Hampshire’s River Itchen. No expertise is necessary, as seasoned guides will be on hand to lend their knowledge to those who are new to the game. Demand is high and only 12 places are available, so apply soon.
