As wine clubs become more popular, they’re becoming more ubiquitous: the introductory offers, the mix cases, the too-good-to-be-true discounts. On the flip side, it does push a select few to think outside of the (wine) box.

One such disruptor is fledgling company Refined Wine Club. Its USP is to deliver just four surprise bottles of wine each quarter. The idea is to broaden your love of wine and provide a sense of discovery along the way.

There are three different levels of membership available: Discover Club (£99.99 per quarter) is for relative beginners – full-bodied yet fruity reds, whites, rose or sparkling wines; World Club (£149.99) is perfect for those wanting to explore the terroirs of the world, looking to discover and develop their drinking range; and Premiere Club (£249.99) is for those craving high-end wines and exclusive labels not usually found in most retailers.

The latter includes the likes of Herzog Special Reserve Herzog One Plus XII – a superlative cabernet sauvignon from a winemaker whose roots date back more than a century to Philip Herzog, winemaker for the Austro-Hungarian court. Then there’s Chateau du Tertre – a grand cru classé from Margaux whose vineyard remains unchanged since 1855. And there are wines from Tulip, a winery in the north of Israel that support locals with developmental and emotional disabilities.

As an added incentive to take up membership, the first delivery to each member also includes a set of six Refined Wine Club branded wine glasses, access to winemakers’ dinners and the Kosher Food and Wine Experience event in London in 2020. We'll drink to that…

All wines supplied by the Refined Wine Club are Kosher. See more at refinedwineclub.com
