The Super Bike

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R is so off-the-chart mental, they won’t even allow you to ride it in public. Turn the key and rather than an engine noise, it may as well just chant ‘come and ’av’ a go if you think you’re ’ard enough’. The supercharged 998cc, four-cylinder engine is capable of 300bhp – that’s 30 more than world champion Marc Marquez's MotoGP bike. In fact, it’s the most powerful production bike ever made. Sadly, you won’t be able to take it for a leisurely spin down to your local Costcutter, unless you fancy getting there at 200mph and arrested on arrival. Sometimes a tin of baked beans just can’t wait, right? There are no signals, no mirrors, no headlights, just lots of carbon fibre and a track-ready price tag of £33k. The faint-hearted will be pleased to know there’s a road version planned for next year.

The Off Roader

The Ducati Scrambler’s retro vibe is bound to get the Shoreditch hipsters ogling hard through their vintage Ray-Bans. Ducati’s latest launch is that heady fusion of old school-inspired styling with modern technology. Its simple 803cc V-twin engine delivers plenty of power, while its array of optional accessories means it has enough personality to tick all the cool-kid boxes, too. It’s great to look at, fun to ride, and, for a vintage-looking number, surprisingly unpretentious. Until your local hipster gets a hold of one, and ruins it for everybody.

The roadster

The Suzuki GSX-S1000 is a real beast – even its front LED lights are shaped like fangs to scare other bikes in the car park. It’s powered by the 999cc inline four-cylinder powerplant that reached legendary status among the biking fraternity in the GSX0-R1000. A honed version of the engine delivers even smoother throttle response with controlled acceleration, so you’ll get that adrenaline rush without needing to have a pacemaker fitted afterwards. It also comes with a three-stage traction control system to make sure you don’t crash into trees and things.
