1. Bestianera Monte Carlo Edition by T°RED
This is one hybrid bike you don’t want to mess with. Created by Italian designer Romolo Stanco, the aggressively styled, ultra light carbon fibre model is called the Bestia Nera – which literally translates as ‘the black beast’. Sporty types can whizz from the track to the road in a flash: the hybrid switch takes 10 minutes to complete, so you’ll be down the pub after training in no time. 3. Bicicletto® by SPA
This is about as racy as e-bikes come. The Bicicletto’s 500w system gives a top speed of 28mph with a range of 75 miles, and you won’t even need to trouble your feet with pedalling thanks to its electronic throttle that’ll fire off within a 30 mile range. There’s also a sleek carbon frame and a motorbike-style seat to give the bike extra lust factor. £8,975, societapiemonteseautomobili.com

4. Fuoriserie by Pininfarina
Pininfarina’s iconic designs might be famed for their four wheels, but the renowned Italian car firm has proved that two wheels can be just as sexy after it unveiled its elegant Fuoriserie, created in collaboration with Italian manufacturer 43 Milano. It’s a gorgeous mix of retro looks and cutting edge tech: the brand’s heritage is celebrated in the handlebars and the seat, which are dressed in traditional The Bridge leather, while a micro electric engine and a high-performance LED lighting system that allows you to charge your phone keeps things cutting edge. And it’s still more affordable than that Ferrari will ever be… £6,730, pininfarina.com

5. Aero Road 6.2 by Dassi
As Pippa Middleton proved when she plonked her famous rear on one to race across America, this aerodynamic, Toray 800 carbon frame bike is sturdy and speedy in equal measure. It also flies the flag for British manufacturing: the Aero road 6.2 was designed in the UK by an ex Rolls Royce engineer, and it’s been hand painted and assembled in the UK. £5,600, dassi.com

The Swiss-designed ST2 is a nifty little thing. Its SYNO Drive motor provides 500W of power and an enormous 35Nm of torque, so you’ll whizz off on your morning commute at a top speed of 28 miles per hour. Which is probably faster than you’ll get around in your Range Rover in the morning traffic. The e-bike’s features are impressive too: there’s a digital user interface built into the top tube that shows mileage, speed and battery life, while you can remotely disable the motor via your phone, making your bike impossible to steal. Which is handy, considering this pretty looking thing’s so covetable. £4,489, stromerbike.com

8. Urban One by Guapa
In today’s age of high-modulus carbon and bluetooth-equipped bikes, it’s refreshing that one company is going against the grain. The Urban One by Guapa is a handcrafted wooden framed bicycle that celebrates a traditional, yet uber cool aesthetic. It's been designed and produced in England from bamboo and flax; the former gives the frame its structure, while the latter adds strength and impact absorption. 10. Malle Bicyclette by Monyat
The Malle Bicyclette is so hipster, it hurts. And you’re a particularly fortunate hipster if you’re able to afford one of these. Founded in 1849 by Pauline Moynat, Paris’s only female trunk-maker, Moynat has a long tradition of creating ultra high end, luxury luggage. And it’s the giant trunk that balances on the Malle Bicyclette’s frame that’s essentially what you’re paying for: it’s filled with gleaming porcelain goblets, plates and cutlery. Just be careful when you’re wheeling all that precious porcelain along Shoreditch High Street in rush hour… £33,659 (made to order), monyat.com
