Although Bearwood Lakes officially opened in 1996, the surrounding forest and woodland have been shaped and nurtured over centuries. The course at Bearwood Lakes is a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship. Maintained to the highest standards, the course offers world-class playing surfaces that ensure an exceptional experience for golfers.
Featuring gently undulating greens built to full USGA specifications, the course seamlessly weaves through acres of natural lakes & woodland, enhancing both the beauty and challenge of the layout.
Fully irrigated fairways and a range of tee positions cater to golfers of all abilities, delivering a dynamic and rewarding test of skill. The late great Peter Alliss once described the topography of the course as being the best, in his opinion, since the last war.
Off the course, members are welcome to relax in the Clubhouse and enjoy the wonderful cuisine prepared in-house by the team of talented chefs. The lounge, restaurant, board room and sports bar are all flooded with natural light, along with a building long south-facing balcony, which is a social hub on a summer's evening.
The club has grown in stature over recent years, with the vision and drive of the chairman unwavering. Bearwood Lakes once again served as a host venue for Open Regional Qualifying in 2025, following a successful inaugural year and will be proud to host for five years. This prestigious invitation highlights the exceptional dedication of the greenkeeping team and reflects the ongoing commitment and investment from the chairman.
Bearwood Lakes also offers a selection of meeting rooms, available to both members and non-members, providing the ideal setting to conduct business, entertain clients, and host meetings in Berkshire.
The quality of the club was further displayed as a host venue for Senior Open Qualifying, another true testament of the excellence of the club.
Last year was capped off when Bearwood Lakes was named a finalist in The Golf Course Awards – ‘England: Golf Course of the Year 2025’ category.
