The image of early flight in the late 1920s and early 1930s is an evocative one.
Charles Lindbergh’s first transatlantic solo flight inspired a thirst for aerial trailblazing; air racing had become a wildly popular public spectacle; and the likes of De Havilland were making aeroplanes so iconic they helped define the design language of a whole era. This was the golden age of travel.
At the same time, Gerry Ettinger was establishing his eponymous leather goods company in London. Demand for travel accessories was surging, and refined goat leather was the material du jour. It was this demand that allowed Ettinger to flourish – a fledgling coming of age.
As a tribute to this early heritage, Ettinger launched a collection called Capra in 2018, with all products made from goat leather. It’s gone on to become one of the brand’s best-selling collections.
This Autumn, Ettinger has taken Capra to new heights launching a contrasting, two-tone sister collection called Capra Ecru.
The new collection combines the same elegant goat leather on the outside but with a luxuriously soft and contrasting suede on the inside. It comprises a variety of accessories for both home and away.
Think: rolls, boxes, and trays, all designed to keep jewellery, coins, keys, trinkets, pens, glasses, watches and more safely in place at home or when away travelling or on holiday.
The goat leather comes from a tannery in South West France, and all the pieces are handmade in the UK at Ettinger’s factory in Walsall.
The Mini Jewellery Roll is a product re-introduction to the Ettinger portfolio, whilst the Large Jewellery Roll has had a makeover with an elegant suede tie replacing the buckle.
The Medium Stud & Jewellery Stud Box now boasts a removable four compartment divider that helps to separate rings, cufflinks, and other smaller accessories.
And the newest addition to the range is the Oblong Valet Tray, that can keep jewellery, watches, glasses, pens, and other precious accessories safely organised on your office desk, bedside table or dressing table.
If you want to add a personal touch, then both jewellery rolls and valet trays can be embossed with up to five initials in gold, silver or blind emboss.
