Jake Isaac is one of those irritatingly impressive people who made productive use of his lockdown.

Rather than binge Netflix or construct a fort out of toilet roll , Isaac got his head down and knocked out an album.

"Literally wrote the whole record in the first couple of weeks," says Isaac. "Then produced it from my spare room."

There's still a couple of months for Isaac to make a follow-up. Or build a really cool fort.

Life

What upcoming project(s) are you most excited about?

A project I’m really excited about is my new album “Honesty”.

I made it during the first lockdown here in the UK. Literally wrote the whole record in the first couple of weeks and then produced it from my spare room.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment?

My proudest professional moment would probably be playing The Other Stage at Glastonbury…

Either that or opening for Elton John on his UK and Europe tour.

If you could change one thing about your career, what would it be?

The one thing I think I might have changed, particularly at the start of my career, is not stressing out about what people think about how well my music will be recieved lol.

What do you hope to achieve that you haven’t yet?

I really want to try and do my own world tour some day and include South America and Asia.

Outside of your family, who is / was your biggest inspiration?

My biggest inspiration outside my family would probably be my old Vicar. His humility and heart to help people has always inspired me.

Tell us something nobody knows about you…

One thing that nobody knows about would probably be that I love listening to the Spice Girls every now and then. We all have our issues.

Style

What’s your favourite item of clothing – and what does it mean to you?

My favourites has to be my dad's old leather bomber jacket, he brought it brand new in his 30s so it's about 30 years old.

It reminds me of growing up and him getting in from work in time for family dinners.

Favourite accessory – watch / jewellery / etc – and why is it special to you?

Favourite accessory would have to be my Vitae London Watch.

It's a bespoke watch company started by a family member of mine William Adoasi. For every watch sold they provide school uniform for a child in South Africa.

What items do you take on holiday and why?

On holiday I'll always pack more books than I'll get round to reading and I always pack a pair of running shoes.

I think I do that whether I read or run or neither: just so that in my head I've packed what I need to properly rest lol.

Is there an item you threw away – or lost – that you really miss?

I'm a massive fan of jewellery, particularly rings.

The first ever ring I got was from my old man, and in our old house that I grew up in I lost it one Sunday morning on our way out. I'll never forget lol.

What’s next on your shopping list?

Next on my shopping list is probably another ring.

What would you buy if money was no object?

If money was no object I'd probably buy some land and build a larger family house back home in Antigua where my family's from.
