Vic Santoro: "Biggest inspiration? Nelson Mandela"

South Londoner Vic Santoro is something of a family man.

With his eyes set on buying his mother a new house and a pendent of his late grandmother around his neck, Santoro clearly understands the value of his nearest and dearest.

But Santoro is also a seriously hard worker as well.

Best known for his lead role in the BAFTA award-winning Gun No.6, Santoro has put an 11-year jail sentence behind him to be a force for positive change: frequently addressing schools and even being invited to the House of Commons. 

He’s kicking off the year with his new mixtape Glory Days Pt 1 – Pain, with parts two and three out later this year.

What upcoming project(s) are you most excited about?

I'm most excited about my project Glory Days.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment?

I would have to say being part of a BAFTA award winning production, Gun No. 6.

If you could change one thing about your career, what would it be?

I wouldn't change anything.

What do you hope to achieve that you haven’t yet?

I hope to fully establish myself as an artist.

Outside of your family, who is / was your biggest inspiration?

My biggest inspiration would have to be Nelson Mandela.

I love going fishing.

What’s your favourite item of clothing – and what does it mean to you?

My favourite piece of clothing has to be my red velvet blazer, I wore it to my first red carpet.

Favourite accessory – watch / jewellery / etc – and why is it special to you?

My favourite accessory is my chain with a pendant that has my Nan's picture.

She unfortunately passed away in 2019.

What items do you take on holiday and why?

I take my compass just in case I get lost.

Is there an item you threw away – or lost – that you really miss?

I lost a stack of lyric books when I moved houses a couple years back.

What’s next on your shopping list?

Next on my list is buying a house for my mum.

What would you buy if money was no object?

My own island.
