And the good news is that you can dress like a Seventies style king without looking like you've stepped off the set of Shaft. Trust us. For some visual inspiration, just look at Robert Redford. That shearling jacket he's rocking is a 1970s style staple – wear it with a pair of slim-fit jeans and Chelsea boots to keep it looking up to date.
At the launch of London Collections: Men, the catwalk was awash with patterned silk shirts and corduroy trousers in retro shades of maroon and burnt orange. To make the look wearable day to day, pick a key retro-inspired piece, such as a paisley shirt, and tone it down with more mute accessories. Or if you're feeling super fly, go all out and get some flares too. Just make sure you've got John Travolta's Night Fever dance moves down to match.
