No kids in the back asking “are we nearly there yet?”, no partner beside you nagging for you to slow down, the BAC Mono is designed purely for the driver. It is as close to a single-seat race car as you can get for the road.
Of course, chances are if you’re interested in a car capable of 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds and handling that would put a Porsche to shame, you’re probably going to be more interested in taking it to the track – its natural habitat.
It’s the second fastest car around the Top Gear circuit – losing only to the Pagani Huayra. The latter costs £1m, whereas you can pick up the Mono for a sixth of that price.
Well, you know what they say: gotta look after number one.
