We haven’t even seen the film yet but we’ve already found our favourite new character: meet the BB-8 Droid, who has rolled straight out of the movie set and into shops in toy form. The Sphero robot is controlled by an app: there’s either a control mode that puts you behind the wheel, or a patrol mode, where he’ll learn his environment by bumping into everything, then move around on his own. You can also record voice commands for the robot to obey, but our favourite feature is the virtual holographic video creator, which’ll have you performing your best Obi-Wan Kenobi impression in no time.
