The heavily peated Ledaig 18 Year Old has triumphed in The Whisky Exchange’s annual competition in which members of the public vote to determine the Whisky of the Year.
Ledaig, produced at Tobermory distillery on the picturesque Isle of Mull, claimed the top spot in the 9th annual Whisky of the Year blind tasting hosted by The Whisky Exchange.
The name Ledaig (pronounced Led-chig) comes from the original name for the area in which Mull’s only whisky distillery is located and derives from the Gaelic term meaning 'safe haven'.
The 18-year-old expression is a deliciously fruity peated whisky, finished in sherry casks, balancing sweet, floral aromas with rich smoke and sea salt on the palate.
Scapa 2003

A 2003 cask-strength Scapa single malt, bottled exclusively for The Whisky Exchange. It was matured in first-fill American oak barrels for 19 years before bottling in August 2022.
This is a rare whisky: one of the few official Scapa bottlings available, the first-ever shop-exclusive and it's bottled at cask strength.
A fruity, sweet Orkney single malt, the palate offers notes of fresh apricots, orange marmalade and homemade fudge that linger in the finish.
Strathisla 2007

A 2007 Strathisla single malt, bottled exclusively for The Whisky Exchange. It was matured in first-fill American oak for 15 years and bottled at cask strength. We're particularly pleased that we managed to source this whisky, the first shop-exclusive and a rare cask-strength official bottling of whisky from the distillery.
It's packed with the distillery's trademark fruitiness, with softly spicy and toffee-forward flavours from the casks layered on top.
Kyro Rye Whisky x Monbazillac Cask

A limited-edition single cask Finnish rye malt whisky from Kyrö, bottled exclusively for The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show 2022, that was made with 100% Finnish malted rye and finished in an ex-Monbazillac cask after an initial maturation in new oak.
It's packed with rye, toffee and caraway with layers of spice.
