Coat yourself in the best of British with the relaunched Grenfell.

Grenfell was founded in 1923 by the Haythornthwaite family in Lancashire. Grenfell cloth began life as a 'wonder-fabric' developed specifically to meet the outerwear needs of explorer and missionary doctor Sir Wilfred Grenfell, who agreed to lend the fine cloth his name. Although Sir Wilfred died in 1940, the brand's success ensured his name isn't forgotten.

Over the following decades Grenfell was worn by British Royalty, racing car drivers such as Sir Sterling Moss, adventurers and aviatrixes, outdoorsmen, sportsmen and style icons such as Cary Grant and Gregory Peck. Grenfell has been made in its own factory in London since its founding in 1923. The Grenfell factory has also produced for brands including Aquascutum, Mackintosh and Burberry.

The AW16 collection features Grenfell’s outerwear styles inspired by original pieces since the brand's founding nearly a century ago. Take a look at some of the coats in the gallery above.
