Her passion for the playful pervades her work – and it's especially evident in her Fall/Winter 2014 collection. As eclectic as it is eccentric, there's everything from hot pink sneakers to black stilettos in here, all ready to grace the glitziest of red carpets. Indeed, Parikka's wares have a long list of A-list fans, with Fergie, Paloma Faith, Dita von Teese and Lady Gaga among them.
Parikka decided that she wanted to be a shoe designer at the age of 15. "I felt like I'd been struck by lightning when I first realised I could actually make a career out of making shoes," she says. And she has maintained that youthful enthusiasm in her work to this day.
