Two years ago, Mr Marvis was launched, producing what it coined the ‘perfect shorts’ – a smart/casual style conceived to cover all summer style bases, taking the wearer from the beach to a lunch and then on to a party. Available in one ultimate fit, in more than 30 colours, the handmade shorts were a hit. Indeed, they’ve been such a success that the brand has now introduced a swimwear collection, so you can look as good in the water as you do out of it.

The timeless design of the original shorts – including recognisable details like a partly elasticated waistband and hidden pocket – has made the transition to the new pool-friendly range, which comes in ten colours and three full prints. The single colours come straight from the classic shorts collection, while the eye-catching and colourful prints have been handpicked from the archives of Liberty Art Fabrics – including the Cousteaus.

The shorts are named after the naval officer, explorer, inventor and filmmaker Jacques-Yves Cousteau. With his trademark red beanie, button-down chambray shirt and Rolex Submariner he created his own and unique style. Something tells us he’d have been a fan of Mr Marvis, too.
