Three of the best movie moustaches
As Movember gets under way once again, men's faces across the land are beginning to show the first signs of their emerging lip ticklers. If you're growing your mo, take some inspiration from the movie men that grew them best – a pencil has never been so desirable…

The twister: Hook
While Peter Pan dances around in a pair of green tights for the duration of Hook, Dustin Hoffman's eponymous villain gets all the man points thanks to his perfectly-waxed moustache. Not only does his twirly facial adornment match his eyebrows and his weapon, it also moves independently of his body, ticking along to the rhythm of the Crocodile's clock. Good form old man, good form.

The pencil: Rhett Butler
If it's an elegant lip adornment you're after, you can't beat Hollywood charmer Clark Gable's 'tache from Gone With the Wind. The pencil-thin number can look creepy on some (think Matt Dillon in There's Something About Mary), but Gable’s famous moustache lends undeniable, old-school charm to his character Rhett Butler.

The face warmer: Sam Elliott
Never have we seen such masterful bushery as that demonstrated by ultimate cowboy Sam Elliott in cult classic the Big Lebowski. Elliott's devilishly handsome narrator appears like an angel before The Dude to deliver him pearls of wisdom which are rendered all the more potent, just because they're delivered from behind a pearly white moustache
