If you have even a passing interest in Formula 1, you’ll know this season marks the end of an era. Lewis Hamilton will (most likely) drive his last grand prix inside a Mercedes Formula 1 car.
For the previous decade, Hamilton has broken almost every record and won pretty much every race with the Silver Arrows. Throughout this time, he’s been supported by just one watch brand: IWC Schaffhausen.
To celebrate this ten-year partnership, IWC is hosting a Lewis Hamilton-themed pop-up in Malaysia Square at the iconic Battersea Power Station this summer.
From 2-7 July, the exclusive pop-up will showcase landmark moments shared between the seven-time world champion and the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer.
There will be a number of one-off and sellable pieces he helped design and wore throughout various F1 seasons. The line-up includes the Ingenieur Chronograph Edition Lewis Hamilton, 2014 (IW379602); the Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition 50th Anniversary of Mercedes-AMG, 2017 (IW380902); and the Portugieser Tourbillon Retrograde “Lewis Hamilton”, 2023, (IW394008).
The immersive space won’t just include watches, but also a host of motorsport memorabilia from throughout Hamilton’s Mercedes career, including his Silverstone Winning race suit from 2021, IWC-branded driving gloves from 2013-2014 and at the centre, the Mercedes-AMG F1 W10 EQ Power+ car – which finished first no less than 11 times during the 2019 F1 season.
