When Gibson Garage London opened its doors on Eastcastle Street – inaugurated by Jimmy Page, Brian May and Tony Iommi – it signalled more than a retail launch. It was the brand’s first permanent flagship store outside the US, planted firmly in London's historic music quarter.

Two years on, it has evolved into a working stage as much as a showroom: part exhibition space, part live venue, part clubhouse for guitar obsessives.

The anniversary programme brings together exclusive exhibitions, artist showcases, and special events that highlight the legacy and future of music through rare instruments, historic stagewear and memorabilia, as well as intimate conversations with influential creators.

Here are some of the highlights:

Mick Ronson – Spiders from Mars stagewear

24 February – 1 March

The headline draw is a rare display of three original stage-worn costumes belonging to Mick Ronson, worn during David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust / Spiders from Mars era (1972–73). Ronson, Bowie’s lead guitarist and arranger, was central to that glam-rock detonation of sound and style; these pieces offer a close study of the craftsmanship and theatrical bravado that defined the tour.

The exhibition runs during standard opening hours (Mon–Fri 11am–7pm; Sat 10am–7pm; Sun 12–6pm).

Elliot James Reay – live

Thursday 26 February, 7–10pm

The celebrations move from archive to amplification with a live set from Elliot James Reay. Expect close-mic’d vocals, deft guitar work and indie-folk songwriting that builds from hush to crescendo. Capacity is limited; timings and details are via @GibsonGuitarUK.

Live music all day

Saturday 28 February, 11am–7pm

Saturday brings an eight-hour run of performances, spotlighting emerging talent including the Gibson Generation Group Class of 2027 – Olly Pearson, Phoebe Winstanley and Melis Ogut – alongside sets from The Soul Revival, Nectar Woode, The Slates and Crawlers. One stage, wall-to-wall music.
