Lucky for the rest of us, no one appears to have taken this saying more literally than the award-winning photographer, Jonathan Daniel Pryce (AKA GarçonJon).
Having earned his reputation for being London's leading street style photographer, regularly shooting for the likes of Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, Esquire and Mr Porter, to name a few, Pryce has now upped his game with a new photography book and accompanying exhibition at South Place Hotel.
The preview will offer a rare opportunity to see his work in a gallery environment. In addition, South Place Hotel is giving guests the opportunity to purchase personally signed copies of Garçon Style (the book itself), straight from the hotel.
Shot over five years, the book features interviews with a host of street style icons including musician Paul Weller, artist Rainer Andreesen, editor Blake Abbie and a special foreword from Sir Paul Smith. From impeccable tailoring to vintage finds, the evocative images capture the myriad ways in which men express themselves sartorially. Each of the book’s four chapters reveals the unique character of a fashion capital in the late twenty-tens: the men, the architecture and the interactions.
"This book has been a labour of love and includes some of my most cherished photographs from the past 5 years. I'm excited and proud to present a hand-picked selection of London portraits exclusively for South Place Hotel, revealing my view of the city that I call home," Pryce says.
So whether you're in the mood for a cultural festive trip or something to look forward to in the New Year, this is one to get down to and see for yourself just how good it really is.
