Your mother always told you – don't mix up your clothes washes! Keep the black and whites separate from those bright colours.
Like most of us, Jordan Peters learned this the hard way.
"I had a beautiful white T-shirt that I wore all the time," recalls Peters. "I accidentally put it in the washing machine with a yellow T-shirt..."
Honestly, Jordan, we've all been there. Five pink T-shirts in our wardrobe attest to the relatability of this experience.
At least playing the lead in Reggie Yates's Pirates, and an upcoming role in Dolly Alderton's Everything I Know About Love, should soften Peters' loss somewhat.
Life
What upcoming project(s) are you most excited about?
I’m excited for “Everything I Know About Love”, written by Dolly Alderton. When I read the script I immediately fell in love with the character Neil, who I play.
It’s a role that I’ve never had the opportunity to explore before, I had so much fun bringing this character to life.
Being on set was so much fun, it was such a joy! Everyone was so funny, that I got told off cause I was corpsing all the time!
What is your proudest professional accomplishment?
Landing the lead role of Two Tonne for “Pirates”. This is the proudest moment of my career so far because it’s the first time I’ve lead a film, and it’s also a film that is so close to my heart.
Every location is shot in London and it’s just so nice to be part of a film that celebrates where I grew up.
If you could change one thing about your career, what would it be?
I’ve loved every moment of my career so far, so I wouldn’t change a thing.
What do you hope to achieve that you haven’t yet?
Being in a Christopher Nolan film or a Denis Villeneuve film... Even if it’s just five minutes, that would be enough for me!
The soundtracks, and the concepts of their films just blows my mind, I would love to be cast in either of their films one day.
Outside of your family, who is / was your biggest inspiration?
Daniel Kaluuya. I’ve followed his career for so long and it’s just so inspiring to see all these amazing/ challenging projects that he’s taken on in the past five years.
The way he carries himself in interviews and the amount of hard work that he puts in every project is just so inspiring.
Tell us something nobody knows about you…
I love Anime. My favourite anime is Naruto, I’ve been watching it since I was 10 years old.
Style
What’s your favourite item of clothing – and what does it mean to you?
I’ve got a Dark Green flannel shirt, that I’ve had since 2013.
It means a lot to me cause it reminds me of all the fun memories I had at The Brit School and it’s so comfortable!
Favourite accessory – watch / jewellery / etc – and why is it special to you?
My gold ring. It’s special to me because it’s the ring that my character wore in Pirates.
What items do you take on holiday and why?
Sunglasses. Personally, it doesn’t feel like a holiday if I don’t have a pair of sunglasses on me.

Is there an item you threw away – or lost – that you really miss?
I had a beautiful white T-shirt that I wore all the time, and I accidentally put it in the washing machine with a yellow t-shirt...
What’s next on your shopping list?
A pair of Black Nike Waffle trainers.
What would you buy if money was no object?
Man United Football Club. I would love to be the owner and make some changes cause we’re not playing the best football at the moment.
Pirates is in cinemas 26 November
