Macca Wiles's teenage years were eventful to say the least.

The Essex-born rapper wasn’t a fan of the indie bands his peers loved – and they weren’t enamoured with the rap music he was making.

Being permanently expelled from school didn't exactly make life any easier.

And so he headed out to Atlanta, performing at a frat party the day he arrived.

Two years later, Wiles has returned to London and is preparing to release his debut EP.

In the interview below, check out the video of Wiles performing a mashup of latest single ‘Outlined’ and Linkin Park’s track ‘Leave Out All The Rest’.

It's not released until tomorrow – enjoy a first look exclusively for you.

Life

What upcoming project(s) are you most excited about?

My upcoming EP that will be releasing sometime this year

What is your proudest professional accomplishment?

Just the fact I’m being paid to do something I love, I had a rough time getting to where I’m at now so that’s a big accomplishment for me.

If you could change one thing about your career, what would it be?

Nothing I would change, I’m exactly on the path that I’ve dreamt to be in.

What do you hope to achieve that you haven’t yet?

I would love to perform at somewhere iconic like Wembley stadium.

Outside of your family, who is / was your biggest inspiration?

Linkin Park and myself.

I say myself because when I was down on my ass with nothing, being nothing and having nothing led me to really go hard with what I was doing, wanting to better myself and my situation.

Tell us something nobody knows about you…

I can close my ears.. no seriously, I can fold half my ear, into the other part of it haha.

Style

What’s your favourite item of clothing – and what does it mean to you?

Fresh white Air Force 1’s, you just can’t go wrong with these.. they're gonna get you right every time.

Favourite accessory – watch / jewellery / etc – and why is it special to you?

I have a few diamond pendants now, but honestly my smallest and first one means the most.

It’s a little 200 pendant, it’s special because that was like a trophy to myself.

I had enough money to buy some diamonds and put them on my neck, that’s an achievement in my world.

What items do you take on holiday and why?

Main items are plain white T-shirts and some Hanes tank tops – TOP necessities for holiday.

Is there an item you threw away – or lost – that you really miss?

Yes, I met Linkin Park backstage (apart from Chester) at Milton Keynes Bowl, they gave me a bunch of guitar picks but over the years they got lost somewhere.

I would love to know where they are and have them still.

What’s next on your shopping list?

Some earrings from Icebox, not quite sure which ones yet but in need of some new earrings.

What would you buy if money was no object?

Whatever my grandparents want or wanted.

I pray I reach my goal of success while they’re still in this world.
