Piaget's new Polo S does stay true to its heritage, though: the first Piaget Polo watch was produced back in 1979. The new version is a thoroughly modern interpretation of this iconic timepiece – our favourite comes with an oh-so-trendy blue dial.

Proving it's down with the kids, Piaget unveiled the watch on Facebook Live, using the pull of its new brand ambassador Ryan Reynolds to ensure that it wasn't just watch geeks getting the message. Prices range from £7,850 and head north to £10,500 for the chronograph version.

Below, you’ll also find the pretty cool 360º video that helped mark the watch collection’s release. It features a virtual reality polo experience from the eyes of a professional player. Prices from £7850; for more information, see piaget.com
