The hottest watches for 2016
Wondering which vintage timepiece to splurge on this year? Wonder no more – we've spoken to Mark Blowers, managing director at Blowers, to get his insider recommendations

Panerai 375
"The Panerai 375 Luminor Composite was announced in 2011, and the Panerai community has been waiting ever since for the model to finally surface and deliver. Inside the 1950’s case sits Panerais P3000 movement providing 72 hours of hand wound energy. The Panerai 375 is widely regarded as ‘The Panerai,’; an in-house movement and looks to die for will no doubt make this the most in-demand Panerai for 2016."

Rolex Deepsea Blue Dial
"When the Rolex Deepsea 116660 was released in 2009, it demonstrated the capability of engineering possible in a dive watch. It came as a surprise to many when Rolex released a new version of a watch outside of Basel, in tribute to James Cameron’s record breaking solo dive. Demand has been high and availability low, coupled with rumours of the dial being discontinued; this makes this not only an outstanding looking watch but a potentially very strong investment this year."

Patek 5960S
"Patek Phillipe have never been more in demand than at present, and are firmly at the top end of the horology market. They have delivered an exceptionally sporty steel version of the 5960s, complimented with a steel bracelet and white dial. The annual calendar chronograph contains plenty of dials, coupled with the finest quality movement. Having seen the precious metal version of this discontinued we would say this is one to grab while you can!"

Audemars Piguet 15710ST White Dial Diver
"The original AP 15703ST was a firm company favourite, and serious competitor for our favourite diver last year. So when the updated version was released with a sapphire case back - revealing the beautiful AP caliber 3120 and signature AP ‘Méga Tapisserie’ dial - we were truly delighted. We have seen only a couple of pre-owned models, both of which have been snapped up quickly, making this a highly sought after watch for 2016."

Rolex Skydweller
"The last year has seen the Rolex Skydweller gain popularity at an impressive pace with more and more buyers realising that it could be the new Daytona. Whilst the Skydweller has been around for a few years the awareness of its beauty and capability is strong for 2016. Looking back at the popularity of the Rose Gold Daytona after celebrity endorsement - and knowing the wrists we have placed them on over the last six months - we expect this model to go from strength to strength in 2016."

Omega Snoopy
"As a tribute to the 45th anniversary of the Apollo 13 mission, Omega have delivered their most desirable limited edition to date. It has been said that 90% of a watches value can lie in the dial alone, and this white and black dial is reminiscent of the classic newspaper cartoons of the day, with snoopy in his favourite position set onto the sub dial. Further attention to detail comes with the simple ‘What could you do in 14 seconds’ inscription, referring to the time taken for a mid air correction prior to re-entering the earth atmosphere. A very hot watch for 2016 with main dealers being allocated just one each."
