Niles Fitch: "I’m really funny and silly"
Young, talented, trailblazing... Niles Fitch has the world at his feet. The teenage star of This Is Us and Secret Society of Second-Born Royals drops by for a princely Lockdown Life
Disney Princes tend to be a fairly bland bunch.
Prince Charming in Snow White, Prince Phillip in Sleeping Beauty, Prince...um... whatever his name is in Cinderella – His Royal Highnesses rarely leave an impression on the audience.
(Aladdin wasn't a real prince. Simba was a lion; Bambi was a deer. Animals don't count.)
Yet the royal lineage will be given a shot of life with Niles Fitch's Prince Tuma in the live-action series.
These non-quite-heirs to the throne are tasked with saving the world.
Prince Harry? Time to step up.
What upcoming project(s) are you most excited about?
A project I am super excited about is Secret Society of Second Born Royals. It is a live action Disney+ movie coming soon.
What is your proudest professional accomplishment?
I was really proud when I became a series regular as Teen Randall in This Is Us. It was one of my biggest accomplishments.
If you could change one thing about your career, what would it be?
I would not change a single thing. Every experience has brought me here and I can’t complain.
What do you hope to achieve that you haven’t yet?
I want to attend fashion week in Paris. That is such an amazing time and being a part of it would be one off the bucket list.
Outside of your family, who is / was your biggest inspiration?
One of my biggest inspirations is Kobe Bryant. His mentality was like no other, specifically his determination to be the best. I have always tried to model my work ethic after his.
Tell us something nobody knows about you…
I’m really funny and silly.
How are you finding lockdown?
Lockdown has been challenging. Took time to get adjusted to not having to go film or audition.
I miss it a lot, but this has allowed me time to focus on myself and bettering my productivity around the house.
Best thing about lockdown?
Being able to sleep in is the best thing of all time. PERIOD!
Worst thing about lockdown?
Not being able to do what I love. I miss filming and the grind of auditions. There is nothing like having to learn nine pages for an audition in a day!
Top tip for surviving lockdown?
Staying active and prayerful. I have been making sure I workout and do yoga (ways to stay sane during these weird times).
I also keep the essential workers and families affected in my thoughts and prayers. They are the heroes!
If you could be locked down with one person, alive or dead, who would it be?
My dad. He passed away a few years ago and it would be fun to spend some time with him.
Not to mention, I would love his help fixing up appliances around the house... the washer will just not work!
What are you most looking forward to doing once lockdown is over?
I cannot wait to see my friends, I am eighteen and I need my social closeness!
Secret Society of Second-Born Royals is set to be released on Disney+ on July 17, 2020
