The pair, who are also known as en&is, have now gone on to create Megaphonemini, a smaller, cuter version that allows it to be moved easily around the house.

As the name suggests, the ceramic piece is an old-school, unplugged music amplifier for an iPhone or iPod, and the passive speaker's elegant horn shape gives it a strong design edge while enhancing the natural sound. It's probably not one to bring out if you're planning on raising the roof at a house party – unsurprisingly, it just doesn't have the oomph. But it's perfect for bringing out with you to the park/into your garden/the bath as unlike a conventional speaker it's light and it never needs to be charged – and it'll also come in handy as a horn next time you're at a football match.

The Megaphone, which includes a walnut base, comes in glossy black and white, copper, silver, grey, and 24kt gold, for those that like bling with their bass.

Prices start from £149 for the Megaphonemini. For more info, visit enandis-shop.it
