Amid all the excitement of the Giro d'Italia, it's easy to overlook the other major cycling race taking place in May: the Amgen Tour of California.
With seven stages spread across eight punishing days, the race covers 650–700 miles depending on the chosen route.
Colombian rider Egan Bernal won the 2018 Tour, another – as yet untainted – victory for Team Sky.
British cyclist Adam Yates, whose brother Simon leads the Giro d'Italia, finished fourth overall.
The Yates boys clearly ate their Weetabix growing up.
