Chiropractor videos are one of the most unlikely YouTube crazes but a craze they must certainly are.

The best-performing videos rack up millions of viewers apiece, all fixated by the skill, dedication and strange serenity of watching someone's joints be manipulated into place.

Count Florence Hall among their number – the actress uses the videos as a means to de-stress. "I find the cracks insanely soothing," she tells us.

Honestly, Florence? Same here.

Life

What upcoming project(s) are you most excited about?

I am so excited that November sees me playing both a brash, pink haired comedy villain in a feel good Christmas film (Princess Switch 3) and an intelligent, introspective detective in a female led murder mystery (Queens of Mystery).

It’s rare to get the opportunity to play such contrasting roles.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment?

Playing Rio Sparks, the gold lamé wearing man hating leader of a 90s girl gang in Philip Ridley’s ‘Ghost From a Perfect Place’ at the Arcola Theatre in 2014 was such an incredible departure from the roles I’d played before.

They took a punt on me and I developed so much as an actress in that short time.

If you could change one thing about your career, what would it be?

I wish I’d felt more comfortable in my skin earlier on. I spent too long trying to be what I thought people wanted me to be, and am so glad that I just can’t be arsed with that any more.

What do you hope to achieve that you haven’t yet?

I would love the opportunity to work with a writing and producing team to shape the life of a character over many series.

We all hope Queens of Mystery keeps going and going as there is so much scope for a brilliant character arc there.

Outside of your family, who is / was your biggest inspiration?

Right now it’s Jodie Comer. Is there anything she can’t do? I watch her and have a strange sense of pride even though I’ve never met her.

Tell us something nobody knows about you…

When I’m stressed I watch videos of chiropractors adjusting backs. I find the cracks insanely soothing.

Style

What’s your favourite item of clothing – and what does it mean to you?

Honestly, all my clothes are so crap. It’s just never been something I’ve prioritised - I spend my money on good meals and good wine.

But my platform Molly DMs are the exception to the rule; I put them on and feel like me.

Favourite accessory – watch / jewellery / etc – and why is it special to you?

My best mates chipped in and got me a gold Maya Magal ring engraved with a pair of boobs in memory of the summer holidays that life, work and pandemics are conspiring to make less and less frequent.

What items do you take on holiday and why?

Factor 50 sun cream! I’m evangelical about it. I promise you can still get a great tan and will be saved from looking like you're starring in Embarrassing Brits Abroad.

Is there an item you threw away – or lost – that you really miss?

When I was very young I was given a delicate gold chain with a heart on it. It got tangled up and in my innocence and confusion I took a pair of scissors to it.

I can still feel the deep sickness in my stomach that hit me once I realised what I’d done.

What’s next on your shopping list?

I’ve had my eye on an incredible Self Portrait dress since the start of the year, but it’s long sleeved and I’m prone to dancing at any opportunity so I’m waiting for an event that is both fancy and cold. Anyone getting married in Scotland this winter?

What would you buy if money was no object?

I’d sort my wardrobe out. The current situation is dire. Send help!
