You Me At Six have soundtracked many a 21st century adolescent since the release of their debut album Take Off Your Colours way back in 2008. (Yes, we also feel old.)

As well as a successful rock career, frontman Josh Franceschi appears to have reversed time itself by somehow only being 30. Going by those photos, Franceschi has also found the Fountain of Youth – possibly in the desert. Knew it was in the desert!

The band are releasing a deluxe edition of their seventh album Suckapunch, allowing fans to appreciate the number 1 album all over again.

As for Franceschi? He better get working on that time machine.

Life

What upcoming project(s) are you most excited about?

We’ve got a deluxe edition of our album Suckapunch coming out July 2nd which is pretty special.

We’ve flipped a bunch of our songs and given them a new approach. Looking forward to people hearing that.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment?

Probably the longevity of the band. Fact it’s still all the same people. We’ve looked after one another.

As we all know, life isn’t always easy, so I’m proud we’ve managed to maintain our relationships throughout.

If you could change one thing about your career, what would it be?

Nothing, it’s all part of it. I’d obviously have preferred to not be done over multiple times by criminals, but this is the wild wild West.

We’ve made some mistakes, trusted the wrong people at times, but we’ve learnt, so it’s all part of it.

What do you hope to achieve that you haven’t yet?

We’ve achieved so much, that for a while I was just enjoying not having the pressure of wanting more.

That being said, I’d be lying now if I didn’t say I wanted more out of this. I wanna headline the big stages at the big festivals.

Outside of your family, who is / was your biggest inspiration?

I’ve had some great mentors to be honest over the years. Fortunate in that sense.

I think people that have shown us the right way to conduct ourselves in this industry have been a massive inspiration. They will know who they are

Tell us something nobody knows about you…

I’m really really funny inside my own brain box.

Josh Franceschi

Style

What’s your favourite item of clothing – and what does it mean to you?

I like the customised stuff I’ve had made over the years with different designers and artists.

An artist called Rob Draper spray painted on some of my jackets for our last touring cycle and they were dope.

Favourite accessory – watch / jewellery / etc – and why is it special to you?

My partner got me a ring from The Great Frog for my 30th birthday. I like the notion of carrying around with me a part of them.

Max from the band got me this silver chain bracelet also for that same birthday which is very sentimental to me.

What items do you take on holiday and why?

Laptop in case I get inspired. Other than that, some books and my headphones. I’m going away to switch off ya know.

Is there an item you threw away – or lost – that you really miss?

I had a bunch of vintage shirts I got while in America many years ago which I shouldn’t have.

What’s next on your shopping list?

Some Prada boots I saw the other day.

What would you buy if money was no object?

A time machine.
