Football fans have tattoos, cricket fans wear fancy dress, and rugby fans…? Well, they get a new Breitling.

Rewind to 1883, and the inaugural Home Nations Championship took place: contested by England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, little did the organisers know they had created a sporting tournament that would be continued into the 21st century. (England won the triple crown, by the way – thanks for asking.)

One year later, in 1884, Léon Breitling opened his first workshop in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. By 1915, Breitling had created the first wrist chronograph pusher – and in 1942, it had created the original Chronomat.

Why the history lesson? Well, these two parallel worlds, both with a shared legacy of tradition and innovation, are now brought together once a year ahead of the annual Six Nations Championships.

The 2025 Guinness Six Nations Championships mark Breitling’s fourth season as Official Timing Partner and exclusive luxury watch partner.

To celebrate, Breitling has launched the Chronomat Six Nations Limited Editions.

There’s a watch for fans of each union in two distinct models: a Chronomat Automatic GMT 40mm and a Chronomat 32mm three-hand model. Each timepiece features a textured dial with alternating matte and horizontal brushed finishes, inspired by the stripes of the rugby pitch.

When it comes to the colours, I think you can probably guess which belongs to whom. But so you’re in no doubt, each timepiece proudly displays the union’s name in its local language in a second contrasting colour.

All the iconic Chronomat features are present and correct, including the onion crown and the distinctive Rouleaux bracelet. It’s also loaded with a 42-hour power reserve, 200m of water resistance, and an engraved caseback with the union crest and “One of 250.”
