London’s biggest and best lawn bowls pop-up, Festibowl, is rolling into London from May-September. With ten dates in Finsbury Square and two weeks in London Bridge, there’s ample opportunity to lap up the sun while simultaneously impressing your friends and colleagues with your bowling prowess. This is more than a great day out – it’s become a staple of the London summer.

Last year’s Festibowl caught the imagination of everyone who came. The combination of blue skies, festival vibes, and plenty of food and drink proved the perfect summertime activity. Not to mention the thrill of Sudden Death Bowls igniting the competitive nature of all involved – you bowl hard, you bowl fair, you bowl fun.

Food and drink, you say? Apart from refreshing beer, pale ale, and quaffable wine, there will be champagne, cocktails and awesome aperitifs. Joining the bars will be street food vendors Mama’s Jerk, Popdogs, The Bowler, Baggio Burger and Hanok. That means a mouth-watering array of food for meat eaters, veggies and vegans alike. From Korean barbecue and jerk chicken to veg balls and vegan hot dogs, there is a dish for everyone to chow down on.

Festibowl was born from founder William Goy’s love for the laid-back vibes of lawn bowling. Ever since he saw the Australians turn lawn bowls into the perfect excuse to muck about outside, play games and drink, Goy wanted to bring the game to London. It’s fair to say he succeeded spectacularly.

“Anyone can play it,” says Goy “with or without a drink in hand, and it invariably ends up being an absolute blast. I love to see people come in a bit unsure of things and then by the end of the game, they are throwing themselves on the floor and cheering wildly!”

From group packages to couples on a date night, there are countless ways to get involved and have a good time. Whether celebrating birthdays and stag dos or unwinding after work, Festibowl welcomes everybody.
