Dreading the onset of winter? Fear not: Sophie’s Steakhouse is bringing some seasonal comfort to Soho.

As well as creating a special menu for the colder months, Sophie’s offers a fireplace that can only be described as ‘roaring’, and armchairs and banquettes to complete the ‘winter cabin’ vibe.

Most striking of all? The huge fire pit in the centre of the restaurant, where you can watch your dinner be prepared in delightfully old-school fashion – think charred wood, hot steel, and sizzling, sizzling meat.

The meat, needless to say, is fantastic: try the West Country roast rump of beef, cooked for five hours on the pit. It's the kind of dish to make a vegetarian seriously reconsider their life choices.

Fancy a post-meal aperitif? Head downstairs to the hidden speakeasy Jack Solomons for a cocktail or three to ward off the evening chill.
