Its founder, Emily Rogers, followed a suitably bejewelled path: training with the Gemmological Association of Great Britain before honing her eye in Mayfair boutiques specialising in antique and period pieces. That blend of scholarship, experience and instinct eventually crystallised into Flamingo Jewellery – one of Britain’s finest bespoke jewellery houses, defined by its colourful gemstones and exacting craftsmanship.
Bespoke isn’t a marketing line here; it’s the foundation. Rogers personally sources and verifies every gemstone for quality, cut and, crucially, provenance. By working closely with a handful of specialist dealers, she ensures each stone is ethically and authentically obtained – or, in rare cases, beautifully repurposed.
From there, each piece begins as a hand-drawn sketch mapping the gemstone’s future: a ring, a pendant, a bangle, or – when fortune allows – earrings crafted from an extraordinary matched pair. Rogers is acutely aware that we live in an era of instant gratification and mass production. Gemstones, however, are finite gifts from the Earth, entrusted only to artisans capable of hand-tooling them into miniature works of art.
Her design hero, Suzanne Belperron, once said: “My style is my signature” – a credo that ensured her creations were instantly recognisable. Flamingo Jewellery makes no claim to stand beside Belperron, but the philosophy resonates. Each Flamingo piece is shaped by Rogers, and destined to be singular. No replicas. No duplicates. No two the same – just as no two wearers are the same.
