Cyrus Watches might not be a household name just yet, but the young Swiss brand is growing in reputation thanks to its collection of contemporary watch designs that standout from the norm.

Under the watchful guidance of Jean-François Mojon, master watchmaker and industry legend (ten years as technical director at IWC, and a string of award-winning watches for other brands will do that for you), Cyrus has recently introduced its latest timepiece: the Klepcys GMT Retrograde.

This new wristwatch features a clever dual-time function, powered by the newly-developed automatic in-house movement, that is not only user-friendly but looks the part – peaking through from behind the skeletonised three-dimensional dial architecture, or when viewed through the sapphire caseback on the reverse.

For the first time, the Klepcys twin-crowned distinctive case (a core element of the collection) has been reduced to 42mm in diameter. Pair that with ultra-lightweight grade 5 titanium, and you have a watch that is eminently wearable whatever the occasion.

Central hours and minutes hands indicate the local time in applied luminescent Arabic numerals on a transparent sapphire crystal disc, while small seconds can be read on the raised triangle-pattern subdial at 6 o’clock, which features a blue three-armed helix recalling the Cyrus logo. The second timezone scale is displayed in a blue lacquer ring with a retrograde luminescent hand which runs from 24 to 24 and resets when it reaches midnight.

Setting local and home time is extremely simple, thanks to the functional double crown. The crown at three o’clock adjusts the hour and minute hands of local time. These rotate at the same time as the blue central retrograde hand with a luminescent triangular tip to indicate the home time. Then, by pressing the push button of the crown set at nine o'clock, the local time hand jumps by one hour each time it is pressed until it displays the desired local time.

The Klepcys GMT Retrograde is equipped with the new CYR708 in-house self-winding calibre, designed to be robust and reliable, beating at 28.800 vibrations per hour and offering 55-hour power reserve.

Available in three versions: in natural polished titanium, two-tone with a black DLC titanium bezel, and all black DLC titanium. It's completed by a black rubber strap with titanium folding clasp and is a limited edition of 50 pieces for each case execution, available in selected points of sale worldwide.
