Crowdfunding projects worth getting your chequebook out for
We all know that in business you've got to speculate to accumulate. Here are three of the coolest projects currently seeking investment via crowdfunding. Power to the people…

The street food concept: London Union
If the mere thought of London's street-food scene has you smacking your lips at your desk, get ready to drool. Newly formed London Union plans to transform London’s food landscape, turning derelict corners of the city into buzzing street food pop-up markets – and its crowdfunding venture is raising money for a new, permanent market in an iconic London location. The company was created to absorb Street Feast, which creates night markets serving up everything from jerk chicken to prime Argentinean steak. Its co-founders are the brains behind legendary Soho bar Milk & Honey and Leon Restaurants, and they already have celebrity backing from the likes of Gizzi Erskine and Jamie Oliver for their new enterprise.

The magic earphones: Revols
In-ear headphones might be good at drowning out white noise, but it's almost impossible to find a pair that don't fall out every five minutes/contort your ear in agony, forcing you to stop listening to your favourite Tay-Tay track prematurely. Nightmare. Enter Revols, which has designed a pair of wireless earphones that mould to the unique grooves of your ears in 60 seconds (ears are as unique as fingerprints, dontcha know). You can even control the moulding process using an accompanying app on your phone, which seems a bit unnecessary, but if it means we can listen to Shake it Off in comfort, we're not complaining.

The floating cycle path: The Thames Deckway
How to solve London's traffic problems? Chuck all the cyclists in the river! Well, sort of. River Cycleway Consortium Ltd's floating cycle pathway on the Thames would be reserved for cyclists and pedestrians, with four lanes and a 24/7 traffic flow system according to different times of day. Built in phases, potentially stretching from Battersea to Greenwich, the Thames Deckway will also tick all the green boxes by drawing all its energy from combined solar, wind and tidal sources to power it. Safe cyclists + very happy motorists = win-win.
