Leonardo DiCaprio's greatest movie roles
It looks like the mighty talented Leonardo DiCaprio might finally be set to scoop an Oscar for his role in The Revenant. If you needed proof that the guy can act, here are three of his greatest performances…

The Departed
In Scorsese's gangster classic The Departed, DiCaprio plays Billy Costigan, a young member of a famous mob family from South Boston who decides to become a double agent, ratting out secrets to the Boston police. DiCaprio gets brownie points for the South Boston accent, and for emanating such a strong sense of panic-stricken paranoia that it'll make you shift in your seat as you watch. It takes not a little skill to outshine Hollywood co-stars Matt Damon and Jack Nicholson, but it's all in a day's work for Leo.

The Wolf of Wall Street
Playing real-life Wall Street scammer Jordan Belfort allows DiCaprio to fully let loose and let off plenty of manic energy and excitement as his character becomes more and more involved in a life of sex, drugs and debauchery. DiCaprio is magnetic in The Wolf of Wall Street, whether he's blowing his cash in a drug-induced night at the strip club, doing a runner from the police or hyping up his money-hungry fleet of bankers. Whoever thought the floppy haired, blue-eyed teen star of Titanic could one day become so immoral?

Shutter Island
One of the most controversial roles in DiCaprio's career is his performance as US Marshall Edward "Teddy" Daniels in Shutter Island. While some of the critics slated it, we think it's a gripping and complex portrait of a man that slowly starts to lose his shit. The story is set in the 1950s and centres around Teddy and his partner, who are investigating the disappearance of a female patient who was admitted to an asylum after murdering her three children. We won't give the game away in case you haven't seen it (sort that out ASAP), but DiCaprio's wholly convincing unravelling is what makes the film. Someone give the man an Oscar, for god's sake.
