London's best film and TV-inspired pop-ups
'More gimmicky London pop-ups?!' We hear you sigh. Fret not: these cult film and TV-inspired concepts are ones to actually get excited about. And there's not a cereal bowl in sight...

Breaking Bad
Since Walter White and co. disappeared so dramatically from our lives, fans (us included) have been suffering from Breaking Bad withdrawal. Luckily, we can all get a quick fix at this new Hackney pop-up, where blue cocktails are 'cooked' in the back of an RV van, and potent brews are measured out using test tubes and nitrogen bullets. Cheerful bar decorations at ABQ bar – geekily named after the series' setting, Albuquerque – include gas masks, bunsen burners and periodic tables. Sounds JUST like our school chemistry lessons.

Twin Peaks
TV doesn't really get more trippy than David Lynch's Twin Peaks, and pop-up 'The Owls Are Not What They Seem' promises to celebrate the surreal with a themed three-course meal, designed by experimental foodies Blanch and Shock, mixed in with immersive theatre and 'interactive encounters'. Obviously, a damn fine cup of coffee and a slice of cherry pie comes as standard, but if there isn't also a dancing red-suited dwarf speaking to us in a creepy voice, frankly, we'll be a tad disappointed.

Edible Cinema
3D glasses? Nope. Thesedays, for a multi-dimensional cinema experience, it's about chomping and slurping your way through a movie, and we're not talking Sprite and a pick 'n' mix. The premise of Edible Cinema is simple: you're given a tray of numbered cups and packages as you walk in, and at key points in the film, an usher appears and tells you to eat/drink. The smells, sounds and textures are meant to create an evocative cinema experience – just make sure you don't spill half the contents of your mystery package down your top in the dark, as that'll evoke a different sentiment. Previous films have included Beetlejuice, Romeo & Juliet and When Harry Met Sally – where guests finally got to sample what Sally was having. Waheeeey.
