Craft Beer Under the Station
Visit the Pelt Trader and you’ll almost certainly miss your next train home. Which is fine, because the craft beers on tap in this bar beneath Cannon Street Station are some of the best you’ll find in the City, including the Kernel, Moor and Burning Sky. They also serve Ray’s Pizza, which will encourage you to stay even longer. pelttrader.co.uk
Tank Beer and a Monster TV
Look up as you enter the Draft House on Seething Lane and you’ll see four handsome copper tanks filled with unpasteurised Pilsner Urquell. Boards around the pub tell you how fresh the beer is (and it’s always fresh) while the rest of the bar has a great mix of British brews and interesting imports. An enormous Monster Screen shows major sports games, too. drafthouse.co.uk
From Print Presses to Perfect Pints
A pioneer in the printing industry, Robert Harrild produced many materials used by Fleet Street’s printers before going on to produce his own presses. His former offices on Farringdon Road still show his name above the door, only now there's a great craft beer bar upstairs, cocktails downstairs, and seafood, steaks and sliders on the menu throughout. harrildandsons.com
