Eat
At its highest form, Danish cuisine is obviously all about Noma, but if you're not up for eating soil or selling a kidney to bag yourself some dinner at carnival, Danish cafe Snaps & Rye offers impeccable dining in a stylish Scandi-style setting. As well as selling a tempting selection of the country's famous smørrebrøds – aka open-faced sandwiches – there's an a la carte menu and a four-course fish menu, if you're after something fancier.

Party
Carnival's wrapped up for the night, so where's the after party? Conveniently, there's one at Notting Hill's the Little Yellow Door, which offers you the chance to bring the party indoors without needing to clear up with a hangover the next day. The pop-up is styled around a living room: you're handed a key to let yourself in, your own mug to drink out of, and are positively encouraged to embrace the house-party vibes. Gourmet snacks include camembert with pear, candied walnuts and truffled honey; booze comes in the form of inventive cocktails; and DJs are on hand to make sure the party lasts til late.

Sleep
You can't argue with the Portobello Hotel's rock'n'roll reputation: pop stars who have checked in include George Michael and Tina Turner, while Johnny Depp and Kate Moss even took a champagne bath there together. Frankly, with the hotel's lavish free-standing tubs, vintage-style rooms and vast beds, we don't blame them for their outlandish romantic urges. In fact, we'd be right in there with them, if it weren't for the potential restraining order…
Rooms start from £220 per night. For more info, visit portobellohotel.com
