Every year, we ask our readers to capture interesting views of the City and Canary Wharf – and they never let us down.
In 2019, we had some great entries showing just how creative you can get in the Big Smoke.
Here's to another decade of great photography in the Square Mile – and beyond.
Massive thanks to all who entered.
Keep on snappin', folks!

Alex Tai
Congratulations to Alex Tai for this beautiful and powerful view of the City. When Herbert Mason captured St Paul’s emerging defiantly through the smoke of the Blitz, the cathedral became a symbol of hope and resilience.
In this photo, the iconic cathedral takes on a different role – as an antithesis in size, architecture and history to the modern City shooting up around it. Yet despite this evolution, the skyscrapers are in shadow, and it is St Paul’s which is once again bathed in an ethereal light.

Lee Knight
Our second place award goes to Lee Knight. The judges liked the strong geometric lines and the use of the contemporary windows to reflect both the modern and classic architecture of the buildings opposite.
The ghostly echoes of pedestrians help give it extra vibrancy.

Marek Neumann
New Ludgate may be located opposite the Old Bailey, but there’s something rather penitentiary about this unique perspective of the new building, shot and then photoshopped by Marek Neumann.

Guillaume Valli
Photographs don’t come much more British than this one from Guillaume Valli. For starters, there’s lots of rain. Then there’s the two bodies heading in opposite directions. If only the umbrella at the rear had 12 golden stars on top, the symbolism would be complete.

Tomasz Baczyk
We receive a fair few images of One New Change for this competition, but this shot from Tomasz Baczyk is the most original the judges have seen for a while. The dramatic lines of glass and metal are striking enough, but it’s the contrast with the bird in flight that sets off the photograph.
