Commenting on the Tory-Lib Dem marriage, catty Ed said: “I think our sympathy is with the deputy prime minister. His partner goes on a business trip, he is left waiting by the phone and he hears nothing until a rambling phone call at 4am confessing to a mistake.” Ouch.

Sibling rivalry?
Cameron just won't let Ed forget that he beat his own brother to win the Labour leadership. Responding to criticism of then-foreign secretary William Hague, he said: “There's only one person round here who I can remember knifing a foreign secretary and I think I'm looking at him.”
