Ant Saunders: "The new Animal Crossing is highly addictive"

A little thing like lockdown didn't stop Ant Saunders film a video for new song Miscommunications. 

He and his girlfriend Logan made a video that will speak to everyone in the country – featuring fancy dress, dancing, and sitting aimless on the stairs. 

The song comes from Saunders' debut EP, BUBBLE, which follows the hit single Yellow Hearts (recently certified Gold in the US. Nice).

The boy is definitely going places – once we're allowed outside, that is.

What upcoming project(s) are you most excited about?

I’m gonna be working on some more singles after the EP and hopefully an album will be out by the end of the year. I’m always excited just to put new music out because I haven’t showed all of my ability yet. 

What is your proudest professional accomplishment? 

My proudest accomplishment would definitely be hitting gold on Yellow Hearts which still boggles my mind. Once my plaque comes in I’m gonna pass out. 

If you could change one thing about your career, what would it be?

I can’t really think of anything I’d like to change..but I guess I would like to have collaborated with more artists by now. I definitely will soon though.

What do you hope to achieve that you haven’t yet?

I hope to have something go platinum, to headline my own tour when I’m ready, and give back to the community that raised me. Also to get an album rated at least a 7 by Anthony Fantano.

Outside of your family, who is / was your biggest inspiration? 

My inspiration also comes from my friends who support my music, my girlfriend and my high school choir teachers who saw a lot of potential in me (shoutout to Stan and Straub).

Tell us something nobody knows about you…

I have a nut allergy :( it sucks.

My lockdown...

How are you finding lockdown?

I’m always going out and hanging out with friends, going out to eat, etc. So the fact that I can’t really do that bums me out, but at least it gives me the freedom to be lazy.

Best thing about lockdown?

My studio is at home so I can make music whenever I want! Also the new Animal Crossing game came out and it’s highly addictive.

Worst thing about lockdown? 

The thought of everyone being urged to stay in their homes to avoid a virus that has been affecting over a million people all over the world and also killing many is just terrifying and I can’t help but to worry about all the people I love.

Top tip for surviving lockdown? 

Find ways to keep yourself entertained at home so you have less of an urge to go out. Also, use online shopping to your advantage.

If you could be locked down with one person, alive or dead, who would it be?

That would be my girlfriend, Logan <3

What are you most looking forward to doing once lockdown is over?

One of the first things I’m gonna do is go down to the beach because I was really in the mood to do that before lockdown. I also just want to hang out with all my friends again and have a good time.

Finally, I want to be able to collaborate and work with people normally—not over the phone.
